Purpose of Position
Candidates may be considered at either level depending on experience.
Develop, recommend and administer compensation programs, including merit pay
plans, salary structures, incentive plans and variable pay plans, to ensure
that compensation remains competitive to attract, retain and motivate
employees. In addition, this position supports the executive compensation
and benefit plans administration.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the executive pay programs (i.e., long term incentive program,
supplemental executive retirement plan, and deferred compensation program).
Manage vendor relationships.
Evaluate the effectiveness of current compensation programs and recommend
changes and enhancements.
Advise and influence business partners in compensation strategy, programs
and issues.
Perform job evaluations and assist in the development of job descriptions.
Assist in the review and integration of compensation plans due to
acquisitions; develop project plans, determine resources and conduct due
diligence reporting.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or human resources
management or in an area related to this field or equivalent related work
experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience
would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess
a bachelor's degree.)
Four to five years of related experience in compensation design and
administration.
Experience with executive compensation and benefits plans preferred.
Advanced knowledge of incentive pay, job evaluation concepts, salary survey
techniques, merit pay processes and performance evaluation methods.
