[IASHRM] Paying Per Diem

In our travel policy we ask people to think of the company's money as their own, to be reasonable with their expenses.  We don't stay in the most expensive hotels, but also don't stay in dumps either. We don't use a per diem, we use actual receipts as we believe that fosters better ethics. We know that if employees are traveling in major metropolitan areas the costs will likely be more than smaller towns or more rural areas. We do have a travel coordinator and require all travel to go through her so we have some control on expenses.
