[IASHRM] inquiry regarding medical benefits

Does anyone know of any situations in which a company continued to offer
(outside of COBRA and probably outside of normal Plan channels)
continued medical coverage to an employee on leave of absence for a work
related injury whereby the maximum COBRA benefit period had been
reached?
