We have a DVD from JJ Keller that has a brief overview of all the OSHA
safety training that they watch. There are also quizzes that they
complete at the end of each covered topic. We also have several company
policies that are covered which includes: Harassment, Code Of Ethics,
Substance Abuse, Plant & Safety Rules, and the Attendance Policy. We
have them complete the HR paperwork - W-4, Confidentiality, I-9, Direct
Deposit (mandatory). They are given their work schedule as well. This is
all done either on their first scheduled workday or a day or two before
they begin employment and this time is paid. Let me know if I can help

Can anyone share with me the things that are covered in your employee
orientation? Do you do this on the first day, within the first week or
within the first 30 days? More specifically can you share what safety
trainings and procedures you cover? Do you take each new employee
through the complete 12 month safety trainings? How do you decide which
ones to train on day one and which ones to catch on the scheduled
trainings? Also do you do harassment training immediately or catch all
new employees at each annual training? Do you have any suggestions of
places to look for guidance on the scoop of what the orientation program
should entail to be sure that all necessities are covered?
