[IASHRM] New Employee Orientation Online

Currently, our new employee orientation consists mostly of me talking at new hires with loads of information.  It is boring for all parties, I'm sure.  Orientations typically have only one new hire involved due to our company size.  I've been thinking of things we can do to make it more interesting and I'd like to incorporate something interactive online.  The more I think about it, almost everything I discuss could potentially be online.  So at what point is it too impersonal?  How do I decide what I should do face to face vs. what they can read about or do in an online activity?  Has anyone gone through this process recently?

Examples of what I'm talking about:
Handbook (policies and procedures)
Have our President give a welcome speech history/mission/values - put it online for new hires to view

Being a publishing company we can do a lot of this ourselves so cost isn't an issue.  I just don't want to take the personal touch away from orientation.  Suggestions please!
