[IASHRM] Iowa Law regarding authorization to mail paychecks

The explanation I received was that they were attempting to protect the
employees. If Company A states in their policies that payday will be on
the first and the fifteenth day of each month, then you have to have the
paychecks available to the employee on that day. This is to protect
them from the checks not yet being issued, and stated that they were
mailed. That was my understanding of the idea. I know-- I can not
imagine not having a payroll processed and ready for distribution on pay
day/ but I suppose there are some companies where that could be the
case. The other part of that is your employees who have direct deposit/
if you do not get the ach transaction completed in time for their money
to be in their accounts when your policy states that it will be there,
you(the employer) are liable for any fees that are due to the employee
because of this.
