[IASHRM] Health Insurance Coverage for Employee's Spouse

We implemented a spousal carve out 2 years ago. If a spouse has
coverage available through their employer, they can only be covered on
our plan if they pay the full incremental cost between family and
employee+1 coverage. The cost difference is high enough that most
spouses came off our plan. We explained to employees that in this age
of rising medical costs, it is imperative that each company be
responsible for it's own employees costs, this in turn will help keep
down costs for the rest of our employees.
