ACT does not have employee self-serve (on-line) for benefits enrollment or
changes.
ACT provides an annual statement of benefits mailed to the employee's home
each February along with a 14-page booklet that summarizes all benefits. We
also use this opportunity to mail any new summary plan descriptions so to
keep mailing costs down. In the employee newsletter distributed the week
the statements are mailed, a sample employee and explanation of the entries
is presented along with a one-page summary of total company-wide benefit
costs with employee and employer share identified. Below is the sample and
the explanation.
This is prepared in-house from information maintained in the Oracle HR
system. Calculations are done on an Excel spreadsheet and merged to a Word
document. It is fairly labor intensive but worth it.

IASHRM Listserv Subscribers,
My agency is looking for better ways to communicate total compensation
to our employees. We are considering one page written summaries, but want
to look at other options. If you are presenting individual total
compensation information to each employee, can you tell us how you are
doing it? How is the information presented (online, printed copy, email)
and how frequently is it updated? Can your employees elect to change their
benefits online?
Thanks,
--
