Subject: [IASHRM] Total Compensation
_______________________________________
Good Morning,
I am employed by the City of Cedar Rapids. It had been a very long time
since we had sent out a communication to each employee letting them know
their total compensation. We did so in February 2008.
We presented a printed copy to each employee. These were distributed on
the same day as a paycheck. The information was printed on one page on
one side for calendar year 2007. We plan to do this each year from now
on. Our plan is to have about 50% of these on-line the next time they
are presented in January 2009.
We are migrating toward self-service benefits. However, at this point
our employees can only change personal phone numbers and addresses.
Please contact me if you need more information.

IASHRM Listserv Subscribers,
My agency is looking for better ways to communicate total
compensation to our employees. We are considering one page written
summaries, but want to look at other options. If you are presenting
individual total compensation information to each employee, can you tell
us how you are doing it? How is the information presented (online,
printed copy, email) and how frequently is it updated? Can your
employees elect to change their benefits online?
Thanks,
--
